Support

Each year, hundreds of children are positively impacted through the services provided by the Children’s Home of York. Each infant, child and teenager who comes to us has a unique story about how they came to need our help, and, while we may be tempted to quantify the severity of each situation, the reality is that to each of these children the circumstances that led them to us are nothing less than traumatic.

During these traumatic times, the Children’s Home of York provides children and youth with a stable, secure and supportive environment. We foster a sense of empowerment – a feeling of purpose, belonging and ability by providing numerous services including:

  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Residential and partial hospitalization services
  • Diverse network of carefully screened and trained foster families
  • Community-based independent living

The task is rarely easy. Success requires the commitment of case workers, the expertise of therapists and the dedication and love of friends, family members and foster families. Success also requires unwavering support from the community.

When founded in 1865, the Children’s Home of York relied solely on the generous contributions from the York community. Today, some funding for our programs and services comes from sources such as insurance, federal, state and local entities. Nevertheless, community support remains critical to the organization. Without the financial support of the York community, the Children’s Home of York cannot continue to provide the same quality and diversity of services that it does today.
